Mauritius, a place to visit a least once in a lifetime

Mauritius is one of the most visited tropical islands in the world. All year round, tourists come to Mauritius to offer themselves dream holidays. Either in sun, sea or the wild, visitors who come to Mauritius are set to have fun. Although a small island, Mauritius has so much to give to those who have the sense of discovery.

If seen from the top, Mauritius is a mountainous island. Green as it is, most of the parts of Mauritius are cultivated with sugar cane fields. Sugar cane fields serve as the production of sugar which is one of the aspects that holds the economy of the island. Long ago, practically all the regions of Mauritius were forested. But as civilization made way, trees and natural habitats were cut down to build roads and buildings. Nowadays, Mauritius still forms part of the developing countries. Many construction projects are under way, the best example being the Cyberctiy at Ebene.

Moreover, Mauritius strongly relies on the tourism sector to bring further development to the island. As such, there are many world class hotels in Mauritius like Le Prince Maurice, Royal Palm and Le Telfair among many others. More hotels could be built in the near future to give tourists a broader scope of choice and better facilities. Additionally, tourists who come to Mauritius are constantly looking for fun. There are a wide variety of activities that can be done in Mauritius. Undoubtedly, the most breathtaking ones are water sports such as parasailing, boat surfing, wind surfing and diving among others. Most of these water sports can be found at Grand Baie in Mauritius.

Grand Baie can be considered as the tourism centre of Mauritius. The place is full of hotels, restaurants, pubs, shops and discotheques. Most tourists who want to enjoy their stay in Mauritius go to Grand Baie for maximum fun, either at night or during the day. The nightlife at Grand Baie will see one walk past numerous restaurants and pubs, well lit in an exotic style and offering quality food of any choice. Such types of restaurants are not only restricted to Grand Baie and can be found in other parts of Mauritius such as Flic en Flac, Belle Mare and Trou aux Biches among many other places. Mauritius is a small island and it’s relatively easy to go to these places. Well detailed maps can be bought in practically any shopping malls around Mauritius.

One must be wondering about other fun activities apart from water related ones. There are plenty of these in Mauritius. For some breathtaking moments, one could go to the Parc Aventure at Chamarel. During the adventure, one would be able to discover the natural beauty that surrounds the village of Chamarel. On the other hand, hiking can also be done in the Black River Gorges. Another place of interest would be seeing the Alexandra falls situated close to the Black River Gorges. Besides, the Rochester Falls found at Souillac could as well be one of the great places to visit in Mauritius.
