You'll still need to monitor its progress and promote the business, but as far as taking calls, answering emails, delivering products, etc. - all these tasks can be performed automatically using simple Web-based tools. A business on autopilot eliminates much of the customer service and frees your time to build the business through Internet marketing.

Automating a web business takes some time and effort, but the time saved later is priceless. First you'll need an understanding of autoresponders. Autoresponders are pre-written email responses that can be sent automatically when someone orders your product or makes an inquiry about a particular product or service. Imagine a customer ordering your digital product (such as an e-book or software program). The customer punches in their credit card number, submits the order, and within a few minutes an email arrives in their inbox containing a link to your product download. It really is that easy, and you can be making money online without lifting a finger!

Imagine your website visitors signing a simple form to receive your e-newsletter or e-zine. Within moments, their inbox contains not only a welcome letter from you but also a copy of your first issue or the most recent issue of your e-zine. Autoresponders can also be used to send responses to regular everyday emails. You can set up various email addresses (each with a different autoresponder text) for explaining various services you offer. Or, you can set up a main autoresponder to let people know their email has been received and that you will respond soon.

The tremendous time saved with autoresponders adds to your bottom line because you'll have more time to do promotions, write articles and newsletters, and add products or services. If you take phone calls for customer support and sales, hire an answering service or use voice mail to screen your calls. This will also save time, and you won't have to stay by the phone all day.

Affiliate Automation

Another way to make money on the Internet with an autopilot business is to offer affiliate products. Affiliate products are provided by other companies as a business opportunity, and you'll recommend the products for a commission. The great thing about this is you don't have to offer any customer service. The affiliate company will do it for you. Also, you can sign on with one company or fifty companies - it's your choice.

Internet Marketing Autopilot

A time saver that's often overlooked is using Internet marketing companies and/or software to promote a home based business. Software helps you keep up with ad campaigns, keywords and clicks when promoting with a pay-per-click search engine. You can also track visitors to your website through other means to see which promotions are working best. You can hire an Internet marketing company to promote for you if you're really pressed for time. A marketing company keeps up with new types of online promotions and has all the latest software to get the job done. You'll save time by allowing the marketing firm to do the research and conduct the actual promotional campaigns for your website.

Keep in mind that making money online takes hard work no matter how much you automate your business. There will be days when things seem hectic, but if you can start implementing these automated systems, you'll be able to make money on the Internet day or night... and even while on vacation!
