Live action at the UEFA Cup!

All those who consider themselves true soccer fans and that enjoy to watch football live should know a thing or two about UEFA. The abbreviation stands for Union of European Football Associations, the organization being responsible for the administration and control of European football. Among its attributes one can usually encounter European country level football associations, worldwide competitions as well the establishing of prizes, media rights and competition rules.

If you watch football live, you may have the surprise of seeing more than just European teams, although these are definitely the most well known. This is because UEFA is not exclusively restricted to Europe, Cyprus being one of the many examples that could be given. Other Asian nations or those pertaining to an Asian territory also are part of the UEFA, based on their personal decision. Such nations include Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Israel, Cyprus, Russia and Azerbaijan.

UEFA is the biggest of the six continental confederations that form FIFA, but it’s by far the richest and strongest. If you watch live football online, you can also get to see some of the greatest players in the world playing for European football clubs, because the wealthiest clubs are here, thus they can afford them. The UEFA cup is for teams that have good results nationwide and for high-placed league teams. There’s also a third competition called the UEFA Super Cup (if you watch live football online, you also have access to games from this cup, which are among the most spectacular, considering the astronomically high standards). It exists since 1973 and it confronts the winners from Champion’s League and the UEFA cup.

If you watch live football online, and especially UEFA cup games, you’ll really be in for a treat. This competition for European football clubs is second only to Champion’s League, and clubs have to perform really well in other cup competitions as well as national cups in order to have the privilege of participating. Qualification is based on the UEFA coefficients that a certain team has, and the better these coefficients are, the more places there are for one country.
