Hydroponics - A new world of plantcare

By: Jessica Thomson

There are many people who really like gardening but skirt away from it due to the big time commitment they have to give towards it. Growing a plant is not an easy task. One has to take in to account a plenty of things ranging from removing weeds, protecting the plants against pests, crop rotation and so on. The grower has to water the plants everyday and take their proper care. Even if one day goes missing then the growth of the plant is surely to be hampered. The plant may even die. Due to all these factors many people do not do gardening even when they love plants a lot.
Hydroponics has emerged as the solution of these problems of all these plant lovers. Hydroponics is a technique by which plants can be grown without soil. The soil is only a nutrient base for the plants and if the plants get nutrients from any other source then they would not require soil to grow. By using hydroponics the plants are grown in any other medium which is enriched with the essential minerals required for the growth of the plants. Most of the time the medium used to grow plants is nutrient enriched water. Hydroponics has not only emerged as a great relief for all the plant lovers and growers but it has also produced cleaner, healthier and disease less plants. Since everything is in the hand of the grower, he can give just the right thing at the right time to the plant. Since there is no soil the use of pesticide and insecticides become completely zero. This saves the plant or the crop to be completely healthy. The soil borne diseases no longer have any existence so the plant is no where at the risk of getting infected by them.
In addition to a better produce, Hydroponics Gardening saves the grower from a lot of troubles. With no tilling and digging to be done, the grower is saved from many commitments. The biggest trouble of growing plants and crops in soil is that one has to take everyday care of them. However hydroponics can be completely automated. So even if someone is away for sometime, the plants would not suffer at all. Hydroponics has opened a new world of plant care altogether. Some distinct qualities of hydroponics like need of less space, less hassles and better produce make it completely irresistible for almost any plant lover.
