How hair dryers help to avoid damaging hair

Hair dryer also known as Blow dryer is an electric device for blowing hot, cold or warm air into damp hair on the head. It is a very popular device used for quick drying or styling hair. This device is used both at home as well as by expert hair stylists because it is very easy to operate and requires not much training to do so.
It helps the drying process by speeding up the process of evaporation of water. As this device uses heat, it is advised to be used with utmost care. The undue heat may dry the hair, which may lead to splitting of hair or other damages which may even lead to falling out of hair.
Therefore, following points should be always adhered to for safe use of the device:
a. Before using the device, one should read the instruction manual carefully. This will give you all the guidelines to run the device safely.
b. You should not use the device unnecessarily. Use it only when it is required. If it is possible, try to dry hair using a fan or naturally.
c. It is not to be used in a shower.
d. Wet hair should not be dried using blow drier. Before using it, hair is to be toweled off to provide some dampness to the hair.
e. Mousse or serum to be applied before its use to avoid damage to hair because of heat etc.
f. Before plugging in its cord, one must ensure that the switch is off.
g. Start the device at a low heat level. If required, you could always raise the temperature as per your requirement.
h. To add volume and texture to the air flow, you may use hair dryers diffuser.
i. Drying should be started from the root of the hair to its ends. The device should be used from a little distance to avoid burning. It should be done very carefully ensuring that hot air is not blown towards the face or to one place for a long time.
j. A soft brush to be used instead of using a comb while drying hair. It helps drying quickly.
k. After use, the device should be unplugged from the socket.
For choosing the best hair dryer for your use, you should consider how you are going to use the device. For extensive use, cheaper models should not be selected because generally they do not have proper temperature control. It may cause damage to hair by excessive heating. These inexpensive devices are to be used by persons who use them infrequently or for those having short hair and so they require short time to dry their hair. A dryer, when used properly, helps in smoothening hair, add volume and even conditions the hair.
